Management of fluids extracted from wells

Processus d’acheminement du pétrole au travers des différentes infrastructures.

The fluid extracted from the wells, a mixture of oil, water and gas depending on the oil field, arrives at the treatment and storage facility, and is sent to a separator.

  • The oil is sent to a tank where it waits for its transportation to a battery or directly to the refinery by pipeline or tanker (oil tanker).
  • The water is treated (traces of oil are removed) and reinjected into the deposit to maintain the pressure of the tanks or to stimulate the production by sweeping.
  • The gas can be used for the domestic needs of the site (example: production of electricity) and can also be incinerated.

Crude oil can be transported by tanker if the transportation infrastructure (pipelines, port terminals) does not exist.
